Classes and Bible Studies CLASSES AND BIBLE STUDIES

See below for a list of classes and Bible studies LWLC offers throughout the week.
Sundays from 10:30-11:30am:
Adult and Kids' Bible Studies

On Sunday mornings, September through May, LWLC offers Bible studies for adults and Sunday school classes for children.  Adult studies typically work through a specific book of the Bible.  These classes are held at the Meridian Habitat Center (14422 Meridian East in Puyallup, WA; click here for directions) following our Sunday morning services and fellowship time.

This fall there are many Bible study offerings that allow us to meet with others as we grow in the Word. We would encourage you to prayerfully consider which one or ones God has prepared for you.

Children’s Sunday School, 10:30 am Our Sunday School children are studying God’s Holy Word using the curriculum “Begin with Jesus and Branch Out”.

Class begins September 17th.

Children’s Sunday School starts Sep – May and breaks during the summer

Sunday Adult Bible Study, 10:30 am led by Pastor Eric Hullstrom.  Class begins September 17th.

1st half of the year (Sept - Dec) ~ Discipleship. We will be using the Gospel of Matthew as our primary source along with Dietrich Bonhoeffer's "Cost of Discipleship"

2nd half of the year (Jan - May) ~ Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians. Our primary source is, well, the Bible, as we explore these pastoral letters to these churches.

Sunday Adult Bible Study starts Sep – June and breaks during the summer

Wednesday Morning Living Way Bible Study meets from 9:30-11:00 am at the home of Dennis and Judy Krumwiede, beginning in October and breaks for the summer. We will be studying Paul's Epistle to the Romans which Martin Luther called a "brilliant light" and "the soul's daily bread" which "can never be read too often or studied too much." This letter was the source for Luther's re-discovery of the Gospel which powered the Reformation, significant this year as its 500th Anniversary.

Evening Living Way Bible study, Wednesday evening, 6:45-8:00 pm, at the church office. The Book of Acts records the history of the early church and the spread of the gospel.  The class begins September 20th.

Themes in Acts

* Examples of conversion (how to be forgiven of sin)

* Evidence Jesus is God's Son and the Bible is God's word

* Basic truths about the church (its origin, organization, worship, etc.)

* Information about the work of the Holy Spirit through the apostles

Busy Women’s Bible Fellowship, the 2nd Friday of every month at 6:30-8-00 pm at Sharlene Parker’s home.  The class begins October 13th.

In this twelve-session small group Bible study, Twelve Women of the Bible, Lysa TerKuerst, Elisa Morgan, Jeanne Stevens and other leaders look at the spiritual lessons learned from twelve biblical women and what they mean for your life today.

Sessions include: Eve: Finding Lasting Contentment in the Truth, Rebekah: Breaking Free of Feminine Stereotypes, Leah: Overcoming Rejection and Insecurity, Hannah: Surrendering in Waiting, Abigail: Dealing with Confrontation in Relationships, Gomer: Learning to Accept Unconditional Love, Mary, Mother of Jesus: Moving from Comfort to Courage, Mary Magdalene: Transforming from Outcast to Follower, Mary of Bethany: Putting Our Faith into Action, Martha: Finding Our Identity in Jesus, The Woman at the Well: Turning Our Messes into Messages, The Syrophoenician Woman: Approaching God with Persistency and Boldness.
